My five favorite scented candles for a relaxing evening at home

After a long day of hustle and bustle, there is nothing better than coming home to a warm, soothing atmosphere. For me, lighting a scented candle is the medicine for such a moment of pure relaxation. Not just any scented candle of course, but one that has been specially selected to bring my state of mind back into balance. Scents have a special power, they can evoke memories, direct emotions and help us to relax mentally and physically. Today I want to take you through my five favorite scented candles for a relaxing evening at home and how they contribute to my inner peace. 

Inner Peace with sandalwood, lavender and vanilla.

Let’s start with my absolute favorite: the scent of sandalwood, lavender, and vanilla. This scented candle is like a warm blanket for my soul. The deep, woody notes of sandalwood combined with the soft, calming scent of lavender and the sweet undertone of vanilla create the ultimate feeling of stress relief. It’s like the stress of the day melts away and is replaced by a calming atmosphere. This is the candle I light when my mind is overflowing with thoughts and I want to reconnect with my inner peace. 

Relaxation with lavender and chamomile scented candle.

The classic combination of lavender and chamomile has a permanent place in my relaxation routine. This candle is ideal for moments when I really need some extra rest. Lavender and chamomile are known for their calming properties and help me to calm down mentally. I find this scent indispensable especially before going to sleep, because it helps me to organize my thoughts and clear my head. It is as if the stress of the day slowly fades away as the soft scent fills the room. The lavender has a relaxing effect, while the chamomile adds a subtle, soothing warmth. Together they form the perfect combination for a good night's sleep. Every evening I light this candle to mark the transition from day to night. It is a ritual that helps me to sleep better and wake up refreshed. This scent feels like a familiar companion that guides me to a peaceful sleep. 

Comfort and harmony with cedarwood and jasmine

When I need comfort or when I’m feeling down, I reach for an aromatherapy of cedarwood and jasmine. The earthy, warming scent of cedarwood combined with the sweet, uplifting notes of jasmine creates a harmonious and optimistic atmosphere. This scent turns my home into a safe haven, where I can come back to myself. It feels like a warm embrace, just what I need at such times. 

Luxury and sensuality with myrrh and tonka bean 

For those moments of luxury and relaxation with my partner, the candle with myrrh and tonka bean is an absolute must. This rich and sweet scent with a warm undertone feels like a sensual hug and makes our evenings on the couch even more special. The scent reminds me of the sophistication of Jo Malone, and it is therefore not surprising that this is the favorite scent for our date nights. It creates an intimate, cozy atmosphere in which we really come together. 

Refreshment and energy with lime – musk

When I still have some work to do in the evening, but still need a warm atmosphere, I light the candle with lime and musk. This scent combination is refreshing and invigorating, perfect to be productive for a while. Interestingly enough, this scent is also well received by my female clients, they associate it with a mysterious, handsome man, which is of course a nice bonus. The combination of the fresh lime and the warm musk provides a perfect balance between invigoration and comfort. It is a scent that radiates strength and softness at the same time. For me, it is the ideal candle to light when I want to continue working, but in a cozy atmosphere. This way, working in the evening does not feel like a chore, but like a nice end to the day. The scent ensures that I stay motivated, while my environment feels warm and inviting.

As a bonus, I want to mention the mushroom candle, especially for fall. This candle has an intoxicating mix of woody, sweet, fruity and floral scents. It is the perfect scent to snuggle up in with a blanket and a hot cup of tea. This candle helps me reconnect with myself after a busy period, and turns my home into a cozy, warm cocoon where I can completely relax.
